Hobgoblins have been a staple of D&D since it was AD&D. They happen to be one of my favorite D&D monsters. Slapping them on top of a phase spider only makes them even better and more interesting. We also create this wierd and cool threat from beyond with them able to storm the walls of a castle by appearing from the ethereal plane. Makes for an interesting twist on a typical fantasy game.
