Unless I'm misunderstanding -- which is possible, I am old and out of touch -- a player's PC dying is apparently a horrible, traumatic experience that worsens the game. So, today I'm going to speak on behalf of the QUIET MAJORITY of players and game masters when I say, your dear precious characters dying is 100% your own fault. (So, please stop crying about it.) I'm going to go over the top five reasons total party kills (or TPKs) happen in Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop roleplaying games, and guess what! They have NOTHING to do with the game master or the game system: they have to do with the PLAYERS. This is, of course, based on my experience over decades of playing with many many different groups and players from across almost all demographics, so I naturally don't know everything about character death and tpks.
