He wants to hatch a dragon egg and keep it as a ranger beast companion. He is currently running through the Hoard of the Dragon Queen Adventure for 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons. Does taking the worst ranger archetype make up for getting a really cool beast companion? Would you as DM allow this? How would you handle the dragon hatchling as a dungeon master if you'd allow it.
