I needed a bunch of identical miniatures to playtest my upcoming TTRPG adventure, but there was one problem: the miniatures I needed don't exist yet. So instead of 3D sculpting them, I found another way.
In this video I'm making simple 2D tabletop miniatures for my MÖRK BORG adventure using vector illustration and a laser cutter. These undead guardians are temporary stand-ins for playtesting, but figuring out how to make them became a fun exercise in creative problem solving.
I don't know how to 3D sculpt miniatures, and that's kind of the point. There isn't always one correct way to make something. Sometimes the best solution is to approach the problem from a completely different direction and use the creative skills you already know.
These guardians will be used to playtest my upcoming MÖRK BORG one-shot adventure set in the world of Tenebris.
